Existing Website Support

A concept overview of the range of website support requests we handle and what the process looks like from request to resolution. These are illustrative examples of common support work, not specific client engagements.

Examples of support we handle

Website support covers more than one kind of problem. Here are examples of the range of requests we typically handle:

Update seasonal hours and contact info

Request: Holiday hours needed to go live before a long weekend.

What we did: Updated the hours and contact details and confirmed the change was live the same day.

Fix a broken contact form

Request: A contact form stopped sending emails after a hosting change.

What we did: Traced the issue to the form’s email delivery settings, reconnected it, and sent test submissions to confirm it worked.

Speed up a slow-loading homepage

Request: Pages were taking several seconds to load, especially on phones.

What we did: Compressed and resized oversized images and removed unused code, cutting load time significantly.

Renew an expiring security certificate

Request: Visitors started seeing a “not secure” warning in their browser.

What we did: Renewed the SSL certificate and confirmed the site loaded correctly over HTTPS.

Update outdated software and plugins

Request: A website built on an older platform hadn’t been updated in years.

What we did: Applied updates in a test environment first, then checked the live site for issues before confirming everything worked.

Add a new service page

Request: A business added a new service and needed a page that matched their existing site.

What we did: Built and published a new page using the same design, navigation, and calls to action as the rest of the site.

What the process looks like

Every support request follows a similar path, whether it’s a quick content change or a more involved fix:

  • You reach out: Describe what’s not working or what needs to change—no need to diagnose it yourself.
  • We take a look: We review the site, hosting, and any error messages to understand what’s going on.
  • We explain the fix: Before making changes, we explain what needs to happen, why, and roughly how long it will take.
  • We make the update: We implement the fix or change and test it across devices before calling it done.
  • We confirm and follow up: We check that the original issue is resolved, flag anything else we noticed, and discuss next steps.

One-time fixes or ongoing support

Some requests are one-time fixes. Others are part of a regular maintenance schedule. Either way, we agree on what’s included and how requests are submitted before work begins.
